Amaechi blames Boko Haram insurgency on poverty

PORT HARCOURT—GOVERNOR Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has blamed poverty for the challenges of insecurity facing the North and other parts of the country.

The governor, who spoke when he played host to the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation, said his administration tackled the challenges of militancy in the state with the creation of empowerment programmes.
