Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is set to accept a transfer to Inter Milan after holding positive talks with the club over a switch for next season.
Vidic, whose deal at United expires at the end of the current campaign, is free to negotiate a pre-contract move to an overseas club. And after his agent admitted he is unlikely to pen a new deal with United, Inter have moved in and look set to sign the player.
According to reports in Italy, Inter sent a delegation to Manchester over the weekend to meet with the centre back, who is the Serie A team’s top transfer target for next season.
It’s thought Inter are offering Vidic a two-year contract worth about £100,000-a-week, while he will also spearhead the club’s commercial push in Asia.
The 32-year-old is expected to hold further talks with Inter in the next few days as he looks to thrash out the final details, but it’s claimed he’s already given the green light to join them in time for next season.
